PBI organizes and hosts two programs each year that bring together CBF-funded and PILI-affiliated legal aid agencies to discuss pro bono program management best practices.
2008 PBI Agency Series: "Engaging Pro Bono Volunteers" The second program in the series entitled, "Inspiring Commitment," will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008. The focus of this program will be on retaining and maximizing the involvement of volunteers. The program is being hosted by The Chicago Bar Foundation a the CBA Headquarters. Additional information about this program will be available in the coming days. Advanded registration is required by Septmeber 17th by e-mailing us. The first program in the 2008 PBI Agency Series entitled, "Capturing Interest," was held on Monday, March 10, 2008. This program provided insights and strategies on successfully recruiting pro bono volunteers. 2007 PBI Agency Series: "Expanding Your Pro Bono Reach" The first program in the series was held on Monday, October 1st and was entitled, "Effectively Marketing Your Agency's Pro Bono Program and Opportunities." The program focused on topics including, the complete and effective use of www.IllinoisProBono.org, effectively using newsletters and e-mails, and promoting your program, opportunities and financial contributions through your agency's website. The second and final program in the 2007 PBI Agency Series was held on Monday, December 10th and focused on micro level strategies for delivering personal pitches of your program and delivering effective and useful trainings to firms and corporations. This program was entitled, "Developing and Delivering Effective Presentations and Trainings for Law Firm and Corporate Pro Bono Attorneys." Click here to view the agenda.
